Screen-Graphics of Florida – Instructions to Make Edits to This Website

1. First off, if you are reading this, you probably are already in WordPress. If, by chance, someone has printed these instructions for you and you are NOT in WordPress, please go to:

- type in your user name and password

To access these instructions through WordPress once you have accessed your account:

a) click on the word “posts” in the left hand navigation page that comes up
b) select the post (or page) that says “How to Make Edits to Screen-Graphics.com”

2. To make edits to non-form / non-Home pages:

a) click on the word “Pages” in the left-hand navigation (note, if you do not see an option for “Pages” you do not have permission to make changes to this web site
b) You will see a list of pages that are within the Screen-Graphics.com web site, click on the page you would like to edit (either click the name or click the little link called “edit” that is under the name – either is fine)

c) The “Edit Page” for the selected web page should appear.

d) to edit text, hi-light the selected text and make edits as you would in any other word processing application. Please note that the font and font size will be automatically inserted once you publish the page. You can, however, do bold, italic, underlined (although not recommended unless it’s a hypertext link), hypertext links, or bullet points / numbered text areas.

e) to edit or add an image / photo:
- first make sure that the image is the size (height and width in pixels) and weight (how many kb’s the image is). Images should not be larger than about 20k if possible. (If you want to find out what the size and weight of other images on a page are, if you are using a PC, right click the image and select “View Image Info”)

- to insert an image, put your cursor to the location where you want to insert the image. Go up to the navigation area above the text box and select the icon ABOVE the buttons to the right of the words “Upload / Insert”. The 1st image of a rectangle within a rectangle is the “Add an Image” icon. Push this icon. A pop-up box will appear. Click “Select Files” and navigate to the image you want to upload. A new pop-up box will appear that asks you information about this image. The items you need to pay attention to are:

- Alternative Text: write in keywords that talk about what this image is (for users that can’t see the image and for search engine optimization purposes)

- Description: similar to Alternative Text / can use the same text here too.

- Select location of image (do you want it to go to the right / left of the copy?)

- Size: notice the size of your image – do you want to resize it here? If so, please note that this will re-size only the height / width, but not the weight of the image. If the weight is still greater than 20-30k, make sure you edit it first before getting to this point)

- Click the “Save” button at the bottom of the pop-up box

To get rid of an image in the copy area, just hi-light it and push “delete” or the backspace button.

f) Once you are finished making edits / changes to the page, click the blue “Publish” or “Update” button in the right hand side of the edit box (under the word “Publish”). This pushed your web page to the internet. You should also go to the page via the internet to double check that it looks the way you were hoping it would. If you don’t want it to go live, but you want to save the changes you’ve made, click the “Save Draft” button in the Publish box.
